Here is a bench I recently put together from some antique barn lumber. This was an experiment just to see what it would be like to work with it. I had no design in mind and used the poorest quality boards I had. One thing I did find out is use saw blades that are made for fine cuts, the boards tend to chip when using a standard blade. Another thing you need to stay away from are the standard drywall screws we have learned to rely on since the advent of the cordless drill. To fasten the boards to framework I started with 8d nails, coated sinkers. I switched ti 6d coated sinkers and it worked better yet, less splitting. I guess if you have an edger/jointer it will allow for better fits. Watch out for old rusted off nails though. Like i said this was just a trial run to see what worked & what didn't when working with wood of this age. Now to get down to some real quality projects. I will post step by step pics. as I go. Have a plan for a project? Let's have a look.
Thanks Again & Stop Back In

Barn board flower bench
Just finished up a barn board flower bench the other day. It really didn't turn out the way I expected or hoping, actually I think it's homely. I will add the photo this weekend, if you have some design ideas for old wood projects let us know.

This type of table will be my first project with our barn board. Follow along for fun, or order a some lumber & make your own. These would be great outside by the garden!
Barn Board Furniture
Here is a sample of barn board furniture we found. These are some really neat pieces and I plan on making some that are similar. It's a hobby to me, so the prices will be affordable just in case you need one. I will post some pics along the way so you can see the construction as well.

New Antique and vintage stoneware
We are bringing in some pretty cool stoneware items. Collecting is fun and some hidden treasures pop up from time to time. Great for decor too.
Old Antique Barn Board Lumber
Just brought in a large supply of old barn board from the late 1800s. Great for deco or the crafter in you. Most pieces are 16 feet in length and 12 inches wide. This antique lumber is for sale. I will have all the old beams in very soon. This barn was put together using timber framing methods of days gone bye. All done with wooden pegs, no nails!
